CFOS turns your Ethernet card into a Com port then uses Dial-up networking to make the PPPoE connection. Basically it turns your connection truly in to dial-up. Though this has some great features as pointed out in the banner. We like it.

1) Unzip the CFOS folder
2) Double click the "Setup" file
3) Click "Install"
4) Click "I Agree" -> Click "Next"
5) Click "DSL (PPPoE broadband access" -> Click "Next"
6) Leave "Com Port" as is and make not of the port it selected (Ex: Com4) -> Click "Next"
7) Uncheck "Tim Sync" -> Uncheck "ISDN Caller Monitor" -> Firewall is your option -> Leave "Dynamic CAPI loading" unchecked -> Click "Next"
8) Click "Install"
9) Check off "Setup DSL Dial-up connection" -> Click "OK"
10) Type in a "Connection name" of your choice
11) Enter your userid as provided by your ISP.

Note: you may need to include your ISP's domain as part of your userid. Example: For Verizon customers it would be userid@verizon.net.

12) Enter your password as provided by your ISP
13) Check off "Auto-Connect" -> Check off "Default Connection"
14) Click "OK"
15) Double click the dial-up shortcut now on your desktop -> Click "Dial"
16) Surf Away!

In Windows 95, 98, or ME go to this registry key: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\ Services\Class\Net\ xxx in the IPMTU keys. You can edit the MTU there but, to prevent CFOS from changing the MTU do this:
1) Start Menu -> Find the "CFOS ISDN and DSL driver" icon in your programs listings -> Choose "Configure CFOS"
2) Click "Feature Setup"
3) IN the "Additional Features" box, leave what is typed there already, make sure there is a space between the cursor and what was already there, then type "-km" -> Click "Next"
4) Click "OK"
5) Click "End"
