1) Double click "System Preferences"
2) Double click "Network"
3) Click on drop down "Show" menu -> Select your Ethernet
device
4) Click on the "PPPoE" tab
5) Check off "Connect using PPPoE"
6) Enter "Account Name", your userid as provided by your
ISP.
Note: you may need to include your ISP's domain as part of your userid.
Ex. For Verizon customers it would be userid@verizon.net.
7) Enter "Password" as provided by your ISP
8) Check off "Save Password"
9) Click "Show Status in Menu bar"
10) Click "Apply Now"
11) Launch your browser and surf away!
Note: You may need to:
1) Double click "System Preferences"
2) Double click "Network"
3) Click on drop down "Show" menu -> Select your Ethernet
device
4) Click on "TCP/IP"
5) Choose configure "Using PPP"
6) Click on "Save"
7) Click on your desktop.
8) Go to the "Go" menu in your Finder tool bar
9) Choose "Applications"
10) Double click on "Internet Connect"
11) In "Configuration" select the Ethernet device connected
to your broadband modem (Generally listed on new Macs as "Built-in
Ethernet")
10.2 is slightly different.
In System Preferences, under Network, create a New Location. Under
PPPoE, select the top box, enter your information. Under TCP/IP, connect
using PPP, and do NOT enter a DNS. Apply changes, and reconnect.
