1. Double click the POETRI software exe
(You can
get it here)
2. Click "Yes" on the "This will install..." window
3. Click "Next" on the "Welcome" window
4. Click "Yes" on the "License Agreement" window
5. Click "Next" on the "Select Destination Directory"
window
6. Click "Next" on the "Select Program Group" window
7. Click "Install" on the "Ready to Install" window
8. Click "Finish" on the "Setup Complete" window
9. Install the virtual Network Adapter:
Windows 2000/XP: Use the Hardware Wizard
to install the Network adapter PPPoEthernet Adapter. The driver is supplied
in your POETRI directory. The installation will automatically install
and bind the Packet Service Protocol to the Adapter and create a new
LAN connection in the network folder.
Windows NT: Use the Network Control Panel
to install the Network adapter PPPoEthernet Adapter. The driver is supplied
in subdirectory WINNT.
Windows ME: Use the Hardware Assistant
to install the Network adapter PPPoEthernet Adapter. The driver is supplied
in subdirectory WIN95.
Windows 95/98:
Use the Network Control Panel to install the Network adapter PPPoEthernet
Adapter. The driver is supplied in subdirectory WIN95.
10. Config the TCP / IP for the PPPoEthernet
Adapter of POETRI
Windows 95, 98, ME
1. Right click on Network Neighborhood (My Network places)
2. Choose "Properties"
3. A new window will open
4. Highlight the TCP/IP bound to the PPPoEthernet Adapter of POETRI
5. Click "Properties"
6. Choose the "IP Address" tab, specify, type 192.168.0.15
7. Set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
8. "OK"
Windows 2000
1) Right click "My Network Places" -> Choose "Properties"
2) Right click the icon for PPPoEthernet Adapter of POETRI -> Choose
"Properties"
3) Highlight the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" listing
4) Click "Properties"
5) Click on "Use the following IP address"
6) Type in 192.168.0.15
7) Set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
Windows XP
1) Go to "Start" -> "Control Panel"
2) Click on "Network & Internet Connections"
3) Click on "Network Connections"
4) Right click on the icon for your PPPoEthernet Adapter of POETRI
-> Choose "Properties"
5) Click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Click "Properties"
6) In the "General" tab check off "Use the following
IP address"
7) Type in 192.168.0.15
8) Enter a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
9) Click "OK"
10) Click "OK"
11. Go to "Start" menu ->
"Programs" -> "PPPoE IP Routing Interface" ->
"POETRI"
12. Make sur you select the Ethernet card connected to your DSL modem
13. Open the Connection Setup menu and choose a name for the connection
14. Under Protocol Options enter your userid as provided by your ISP.
Note: you may need to include your ISP's domain as part of your userid.
Example: For Verizon customers it would be userid@verizon.net.
15. Enter your password as provided by your ISP
16. Close POETRI
17. "Start" menu -> "Programs" -> "PPPoE
IP Routing Interface" -> "POETRI"
18. Surf Away!
